Our first dental training programme in Babati District

Following a very successful DVP earlier this month, today another group of volunteers will leave Heathrow in preparation for our second dental training programme during February!

Cos theory training

12 Health Workers successfully completed our dental training programme in the Lake Zone region on Wednesday 12th, following 3 days of theory training and 6 days of practical training with 22 dental volunteers. Today, 6 more Health Workers (pictured right with officials) have began their theory training as they look forward to meeting 11 dental volunteers on Wednesday 19th, in order to begin their practical training.

The training will take place in the Babati District – one of six districts in the Manyara region. This is our first time in the District and we’re really excited to host a training programme there. Bridge2Aid Site Administrator Haji has been located in Babati for the past week, planning the programme with officials who are really very much looking forward to our arrival due to the current lack of access to safe dental treatment in the area.

We wish our dental volunteers a safe journey this evening (Monday 17th February) to Tanzania. Dental Programmes Manager Joyce and Assistant Stellah (left) are on their way to welcome the group when they land tomorrow morning.
